The Animation Process

The Process, from Drawing to Animation

There are three parts to the animation process, pre-production, production and post-production.

The process begins with a medical illustrator drafting a storyboard of the animation. This is an extremely important part of the process where careful research is conducted and strategy of how best to develop the animation is executed.

The next step is production. This is the step where the modeling, texturing, animation, lighting and rendering take place. To assure best results the animations are rendered several times with low resolutions to hammer in the best final details of the footage before rendering the final high-quality animation.

The final step is the post-production. This is where we import the animation into our compositing and video editing software to add in the labels, effects and additional animations. Here is where any voice-overs are added. The final composted animation is delivered in the needed format for Broadcast, PowerPoint, CD/DVD or mobile device. As needed, technical assistance is provided.
